I'M Amarrah

My photography journey officially started in March of 2023, but honestly… it began way before that. As a kid, I was always borrowing my dad’s camera and running around the yard photographing everything. That turned into cell-phone photoshoots with friends as I got older, and in 2022 my dad finally convinced me to buy a real camera of my own. It sat for a while… until the moment I actually picked it up and started using it. From that point on, I was completely locked in, photographing just about anyone  of my friends willing to step in front of my lens.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some truly incredible people, learn from amazing photographers, and experience places I never imagined I’d get to see at just 22 years old. And I’m only getting started.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (which explains my love for a good rainstorm), and we moved to Minnesota in 2016. I’ll be brutally honest I HATED it at first. But over the last 10 years, I’ve grown to love the small-town charm of the rural Midwest, and building my business here has only deepened that love. That said… I’m always down to travel. It takes zero convincing to get me to take a trip.

I’m the second youngest of seven kids, but somehow carry strong oldest-child energy. I’ve always been a planner, a list-maker, and someone who liked to have control over everything (Including my brothers). That mindset led me to college, chasing something I thought I should do because I already knew I was good at it, until I realized it wasn’t for me. Instead, God handed me a camera and a career that lets me be creative, connect deeply with people, and use my big personality (and inability to stop talking) in the best way possible.

I never imagined photography could become something so meaningful, or that I’d get to create memories people will carry with them for a lifetime. I’m endlessly grateful for the support, the growth, and the journey so far and I can’t wait to see where God takes this next!
